Develop your Mixed Martial Arts skills through our training and sparring sessions. Become a part of the Mixed Martial Arts community at UTSC
For students, by students interested in Mixed Martial Arts.
The Mixed Marital Arts Club is a student-run group based out of UTSC. Our members and executives all come from diverse backgrounds, allowing students to come together and share their techniques, martial arts knowledge, and principles with other like-minded students. This club also provides the opportunity for those who are new to martial arts to learn from different styles provided from the diverse backgrounds of club members.
We aim to provide an enriched environment for martial artists to learn and grow, especially through interacting with unfamiliar arts and cultures, thus extending their skills to new horizons.

Mixed Martial Arts, otherwise known as MMA, is a full-contact sport. It combines fighting disciplines from various martial arts backgrounds. This includes kick-boxing, karate, muay thai, wrestling, and jiu jitsu to name a few martial arts.
We hold general MMA conditioning with a focus on instructing others and peer-to-peer learning. Our classes focus on the main concepts of Mixed Martial Arts, such as striking and grappling, so that members can gain a better understanding of various Mixed Martial Arts techniques.

Always make sure to wear athletic or martial arts gear that you're comfortable training in. You should also bring your own hand-wraps or gloves if you would like to practice your striking on focus and muay thai pads. If you do not own a pair of boxing/MMA gloves yourself, we do have a few pairs that we are able to loan out for sessions but it is highly encouraged that you bring your own
And don't forget to bring water--it's always important to stay hydrated, especially when exercising!
